CHIANTI
This information may be
too elementary for some of you. However, we have come across with more
than a few customers who are not as familiar with wine from Chianti. Many
people still have the perception that Chianti is a type of grape that is made
into wine. To clarify this miss perception, Chianti is a wine region in
Tuscany, Italy. Only wines come from this region can be properly called Chianti.
Its primary red grapes are
Sangiovese and Caniolo and their main white grapes are Trebbiano and
Malvasia. Red Chianti is usually strong and bold and pair nicely with
well-seasoned food and it can be stored up to 10 years for good quality Chianti.
Vintage 1997 was considered by many the "vintage of the century".
Ruffino
Aziano Chianti Classico 2004 (Rp. 187,000) which is a very pleasant
drinking wine. It is medium ruby in color, with an aroma of fresh black
cherries, bitter chocolate and hints of tobacco. The palate is medium weight,
smooth and silky, with black cherry fruit, medium tannin, and invigorating
acidity. |
